Cleared North Texas land at golden hour with mesquite and post oak in the distance

Dallas Land Clearing, built for Texas dirt.

Cedar, mesquite, post oak, and brush. Cleared right the first time. Hillmann Excavating handles land clearing, forestry mulching, excavation, and grading across Dallas and the North DFW metroplex. Family-owned, licensed and insured, and honest about what your ground needs.

What we do

Land clearing and dirt work for every size job.

Why Hillmann

The crew you hire once and call again.

One family-owned crew, the right equipment, and a lot of respect for the ground. Here's what hiring Hillmann actually looks like.

We know North Texas dirt

Blackland prairie clay, limestone shelves, cedar breaks, sandy bottoms. We've worked it all across DFW, and the approach changes with the ground. That's where experience earns its keep.

Clean work sites

A finished job should look finished. Brush mulched or hauled, ruts leveled, access lanes repaired, mulch spread flat. You should be able to walk the lot in boots when we leave.

Honest quotes, fast answers

On-site estimates and fixed-scope pricing. No surprise add-ons once the machines are running. Family-owned means your email gets answered the same day.

Straight answers on DFW land clearing.

The questions we get most from Dallas-area property owners, builders, and ranchers. If yours isn't here, email us.

Most DFW lots run between $1,500 and $4,500 per acre, but the number swings hard based on how thick the cedar and mesquite are, slope, access, and whether you want debris hauled off or mulched in place. We quote every job on-site so you get a real number, not a guess.
We take cedar out below the root crown so it doesn't sucker back, and we grind mesquite under the bud ring to knock out most regrowth in a single pass. Push-and-pile works for some jobs, but for ranch and pasture restoration we mulch or grind. It's cleaner and the land recovers faster.
For most rural and residential tracts in DFW, no. Private land clearing doesn't require a permit. Inside city limits, floodplain zones, or HOA-restricted lots can be a different story. We flag any permit concerns during the walk-through so you know before we start.
A dozer pushes everything into piles to burn or haul. Fast, but hard on the soil and the keeper trees. Forestry mulching grinds vegetation in place in a single pass, leaves a nutrient-rich mulch layer, and preserves the trees you want. Mulching costs more per hour but often wins on total cost because there's no burning, hauling, or cleanup afterward.
From a half-acre residential lot to subdivision-scale tracts. We run equipment sized for the job: skid steer for tight work, dozer and excavator for open ground. If it's outside our wheelhouse, we'll tell you straight.
Typical lead time is one to three weeks from quote to first day on the ground, faster when the schedule allows. Urgent work before a build start or closing? Email us and we'll do what we can.
